Situated in Southeast Portland's Buckman Neighborhood, the Washington High School Building is a historic area landmark with deep roots in the community. Built in the early 1900s, WHS operated as a neighborhood educational institution until it was closed in 1981. The building then sat, unused, for over 30 years. It was considered for alternative use in the early 2000 and then renovated and reopened as a creative space and performance venue in the mid-2000s.
